Crisis on Infinite Earths, the 5-part Arrowverse crossover event, is set to resume on January 14 with the final two parts of the game-changing storyline. But already in the first three parts of the multi-show event has so much happened. From the huge list of DC cameos and appearances from other films and TV shows to major ramifications for the Arrowverse as a whole, TPTB has made it very clear that they are not joking around with this story. With two more episodes left to air, it remains to be seen what the DC TV universe will look like on The CW after the Crisis is over. All that is known currently is that fans should prepare themselves for a very different Arrowverse after January 14.

As each episode had several huge moments, whether it be geek out worthy or earth-shattering (no pun intended), there is a lot to take in from each part. With the crossover quickly approaching to resume the massive event, it’s time to take a look at each part that has aired and breakdown the 10 best moments. Disclaimer: this list will include major spoilers from Supergirl season 5, episode 9 which is part 1 in the crossover.

The DC Montage of Cameos

It doesn’t even take 5 minutes for the crossover to already unleash several amazing cameos. As the Monitor explains the history of the multiverse, the episode begins to cut to one Earth after another. For each universe that was shown, another DC TV show or movie became officially part of the Arrowverse’s multiverse canon.

From Titans, Batman ’66, to Batman ’89, those cameos were amazing even though it was just to see their worlds be destroyed seconds later.

Jon Kent’s Debut

It was promised that fans would officially get to meet Superman and Lois’ child in the crossover and it finally happened. The child is revealed to indeed be Jonathan ‘Jon’ Kent based on the character of the same name in the comics who is currently Superboy.

With the upcoming Superman and Lois spin-off, it remains to be seen if Jon will remain a baby for that long.

 Oliver’s Final Gift to Mia

With Mia Smoak set to get her own spin-off series in Green Arrow and the Canaries, her father still had one piece of unfinished business with her. During the crossover’s first hour, Oliver gifts Mia with her own Green Arrow costume as he officially passes the mantle on to her.

Knowing that he will die in the Crisis, Oliver certainly picked the right time to grant his daughter her own costume.

A Temporary Alliance with Lena Luthor

Even though Lena Luthor has cut Kara and her gang out of her life, it didn’t stop Lex’s little sister in helping evacuate Earth-38. This is where it is really made clear that even if they are a bit similar, Lena is willing to help in a crisis like this which we doubt Lex would do. Seeing Lena working together with Alex in making sure the evacuation of Earth-38’s population made it to Earth-1 safe was a major highlight moment.

Although Lena made sure to keep her petty-switch on as she informs Alex that this team-up doesn’t change anything between them.

Argo City’s Destruction

This might sound weird to list as a “best moment”, but the end of Argo City is where it was made abundantly clear what the stakes are. With a storyline as big as Crisis on Infinite Earths, seeing the last piece of Krypton get destroyed before Earth-38 met its demise, helped set up the stakes in a powerful way.

A beautiful takeaway, though, is seeing Clark and Lois being put in the position that Jor-El and Lara were put in when they sent Kal-El to Earth. As they sent Jon away before Argo City got destroyed, it became a full-circle moment for Clark in many ways.

Visit to Earth-16

A big surprise was revisiting the Star City 2046 timeline, but with an added twist. Apparently, when the Legends visited the old version of Oliver, they had been taken to an entire separate Earth.

As they found Jon in Oliver’s care, Sara and the Emerald Archer get to share a powerful moment where she assures Oliver that he is a good man on any Earth. It’s probably a good thing that Sara left out the Earth-X version of Oliver in that conversation.

Batwoman Joins the League

Batwoman’s world was, literally, shaken as the Bat-vigilante officially became part of the rest of the Earth-1 gang of heroes. While dealing with the Wonderland Gang, Kate gets recruited by Harbinger as the heroine learns about the Crisis. It’s both hilarious and huge all at the same time because this is such new territory for Kate.

Battling the Shadow Demons

The famous Shadow Demons from the Crisis comic officially make it into the crossover. Visually speaking, the design for the army looked solid and it was one of the better fight scenes, crossover-wise.

With so many heroes present all at the same time during their biggest mission of all time, it was a big nerd moment seeing the Shadow Demons emerge on screen.

Earth-38’s Destruction

Similarly to Argo City’s destruction, the end of Earth-38 is considered a “best” spot because it, once again, reminds everyone about the stakes that are presented. This is literally the end of the multiverse and it was inevitable that Kara’s world would get destroyed in the end. The heroes did everything they could to save as many people as possible which is how this ties into the ultimate best moment of part 1.

Oliver’s Sacrifice

While Green Arrow was destined to die in the Crisis, Oliver still changed fate by dying sooner and differently from how the Monitor had seen it. As Oliver refuses to stop fighting until he knows the Earth had been evacuated, the hero throws his bow and dukes it out with a swarm of Shadow Demons before being taken back to Earth-1.

While his sacrifice did have an impact, Oliver dies in the presence of his allies which are where the Monitor is shocked that the future he had seen was already changing.
