Xiaomi’s MIUI is one of the best Android skins available today. Many people love it for the extra features it comes with along with its excellent battery optimization. Lately, some people have even started hating it due to the high number of ads it is offering. Also, it is a highly customized skin which is totally different from Stock Android and lacks an App Drawer. Still, majority of people love this skin.

Interestingly, a senior member on XDA-developers named Mikanoshi has developed “CustoMIUIzer”, an Xposed module consisting of various mods for MIUI 10 based on Android Pie. It only works if you have also installed the (Ed)Xposed on your mobile.

Some special features of this ROM are: configure separate volume for ringtones / notifications / system sounds, double tap on the lock screen to sleep, fast access icons on some devices, etc. You can read more about the ROM from here. CustoMIUIzer also supports local backup of settings on phone’s internal storage. Automatic cloud backups via Google Cloud are also supported.

Installing CustoMIUIzer is quite easy. First, EdXposed must be installed on your phone. After that, download CustoMIUIzer from here. There will be very less bugs as the latest releases of the module are stable versions. You’re almost done. Now, enable CustoMIUIzer module from EdXposed installer. Then choose the mods you want to apply according to your own preferences, and click on Soft Reboot inside the menu. Your phone will successfully boot up with all the new changes you applied.

The module is completely open source, which means you can easily modify and create another module using its source code if you’re a developer. Or, you can just customise it for your own personal use. Do note that it will only work on MIUI devices running on Android Pie.
